Nicotine Dependence Center's Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification Training Program provides a reliable source for the most up-to-date, evidence based information on the best practices in tobacco dependence treatment. As an accredited program we bring our comprehensive experience to educational programs oriented toward professionals who are interested in incorporating nicotine dependence treatment into their practice and/or developing a service to meet the needs of tobacco dependent patients.
The nationally accredited Mayo Clinic Tobacco Treatment Specialist training offers a unique blended learning format which includes a combination of online and face-to-face training hosted on one of the Mayo Clinic campuses OR we can bring the training to your community.
We welcome all professionals who have a strong interest in the field of tobacco or health and want to learn more on how to improve working with and talking to patients and clients about tobacco cessation. This course is designed to develop skills to effectively treat tobacco dependence in a variety of settings such as hospitals, community health centers, dental practices, public health organizations, telephone quitlines, and addiction and mental health centers.
The Mayo Clinic Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training is coordinated and taught by clinical and scientific faculty applying published research into the theory of behavior change and pharmacotherapy for tobacco treatment. Faculty members are chosen for their expertise in the field of tobacco treatment and commitment to teaching.
Blended learning format - online modules in combination with a 3-day onsite training focused on developing skills to effectively treat tobacco dependence. Dual eligibility for both Mayo Clinic and National certification.
